Six-Word Memoirs with SMITH Mag

Fresh tomato sandwich: winter picnic, Everglades.

Backstory

It had been a cold, snowy, icy February in N.C, when my husband and I set out from N.C.S.U. in Raleigh to enjoy our spring break in Key West. Two days later we stopped at a food stand near the Everglades, bought fresh tomatoes and bread, and were soon sitting at a sunny picnic table in the Everglades, clad in shorts and T-shirts, enjoying the best tomato sandwich I have ever eaten.
