Six-Word Memoirs with SMITH Mag

Preparing Christmas Meal Before Giving Birth

Backstory

My First child was due Christmas Day, although my Dr. had recently said that it wouldn't arrive til the New Year. I was so disappointed that my baby wouldn't arrive in time for Christmas! Yet I was excited that my parents were driving 8 hours to spend Christmas with us. I prepared the entire meal myself and was feeling better then I had in some time! They arrived as I was finishing up. My husband was annoyed that I was doing too much and of course my Mother had thought she'd cook for us. Therefore, I was forced to sit down & put my feet up after the meal and they would clean up. I had already done too much in my condition according to all. I totally disagreed and wanted to clean up my own kitchen. Needless to say I went into labor shortly and gave birth to my first child!
